What is Zakat?
One of the five pillars of Islam: an annual obligation to give 2.5% of your zakatable wealth to those in need, once your wealth exceeds the Nisab threshold and has been held for a full lunar year (Hawl).
Is my data private?
Yes. Your data is stored securely in the cloud and tied to your account. Give 2.5 does not share, sell, or use your financial data for any purpose other than running the app.
Gold or Silver Nisab — which should I use?
Both are valid scholarly positions. Gold sets a higher threshold; Silver sets a lower one, meaning more people qualify. If you are unsure, consult your local imam or a trusted scholar.
Which madhhab does the app follow?
Give 2.5 supports settings for different madhhabs. The default 2.5% rate reflects the majority consensus across Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi'i, and Hanbali schools.
